Dr. Chris Diorio is Founder and CEO at Impinj, Inc. He is also an Affiliate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Washington. Dr. Diorio received his Ph.D. from Caltech in 1997 and has 30 years experience in computer and radio engineering. He has 67 scholarly publications, 125 issued patents, and was instrumental in the development of RAIN RFID, the UHF Gen2 protocol, and the RAIN RFID Alliance. He has received Packard, Sloan, Presidential, and ONR fellowships as well as numerous awards, among them a Special Achievement Award from RFID Journal, the Ted Williams Award from AIM Global, a Distinguished Teaching Award from the UW, and the Paul Rappaport Award from the IEEE.
