OPENING KEYNOTE – PLATINUM SPONSOR- EMBISPHERE – HOW THE RAIN INDUSTRY CAN HELP A RETAILER TO FULLY EMBRACE THE BENEFITS OF RAIN, THOMAS FREMAUX, CEO EMBISPHERE
Most of the retailers have now started to POC or pilot a RAIN RFID project. Very few yet have deployed some obvious RFID functionalities such as inventory but there are many more benefits not yet even deployed or taken in account by our industry. What prevents them from embracing more widely the RAIN Technology? What do retailers expect from our RAIN Industry to focus on in the coming years?
RAIN RFID DATA IN THE CLOUD — LITTLE DEVICES AND BIG DATA, STEPHEN JOHNSON, SENIOR SOLUTIONS ENGINEER, GOOGLE CLOUD
RAIN RFID tags are everywhere. The amount of data generated has grown to Cloud Scale — Terabytes (and Petabytes!) of information is generated on a regular basis. The tools of Big Data were created to solve problems like these. This presentation will cover how RAIN RFID solutions are implemented in the Cloud, and provide best practices for making the most of your valuable data — from creating telemetry for individual devices to performing analysis on your aggregated data.
RAIN RFID SIMPLIFIES LAUNDRY MANAGEMENT TO CREATE A POSITIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES, ERIC SULIGOJ, DIRECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, HID
Learn how a Swiss Hotel laundry equipped with RAIN RFID did not only optimize their logistics and accounting processes, but also enabled people with disabilities to work in a rewarding professional environment. The RAIN RFID solution provided by HID Global and HygieClean ensures proper washing and owner assignment based on the item type and laundry guidelines.
THE TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN, JOACHIM WILKENS, HEAD OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS SOLUTIONS, C & A
C&A’s findings about required sustainable process changes to maximize the benefits of RAIN RFID and how to embed RAIN RFID in C&A’s future ECO System.
JOURNALISM IS PUSHING RFID AND WIRELESS IOT, ANJA VANBOCXLAER, RFID IM BLICK
RFID is the building block of the digital future. Journalism creates the awareness that RFID products and solutions need. As journalists, we explain how RFID technology can be promoted together and how publishing innovative use cases can drive the industry forward and reach new users. The presentation will include use cases in retail, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, security.
USING RAIN RFID FOR TISSUE AND IMPLANT TRACKING IN THE HOSPITAL, BEN READ, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE – EUROPE, TERSO SOLUTIONS
Ben Read of Terso Solutions will present two case studies on the implementation of RAIN RFID technology integrated with tissue & implant tracking software for automating inventory management in 3 US-based hospitals. Utilizing RAIN RFID technology has helped to improve visibility and meet compliance standards; all the while freeing up staff time and providing a better patient experience. This presentation will highlight how using RAIN RFID to gain real-time intelligence is improving overall healthcare operations. Ben will discuss the possibilities that exist when all assets in a healthcare facility are connected with the use of RAIN RFID hardware, IoT technologies, and real-time communications.
TIPP GUIDELINE ENABLES RAIN TO SCALE FASTER IN RETAIL AND BEYOND, JUHO PARTANEN, DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, CO-FOUNDER VOYANTIC LTD.
GS1 has released the TIPP global guideline in January. Targeted at RAIN usage in retail the guideline specifies performance grades for tagged items. The grades are used by trading partners to efficiently share tagging requirements in a similar way as it is done with barcodes and other vendor compliance requirements. The presentation focuses on the benefits of TIPP for retailers, suppliers, tagging solutions providers and RAIN technology vendors. (Video – Voyantic-TIPP)
TEST ENGINEERING TO PROMOTE RAIN MARKET ? CASE STUDIES, JINYONG KIM, SENIOR ENGINEER, KOREA TESTING LAB.
What do you think is the biggest problem to promote RAIN market? Korean government and enterprise have conducted many pilot projects on various industry sectors to find service hindrance factors and new markets. Most end customers are faced with reliability problem of RAIN tags including breakdown and malfunction, reduced read rates. They are the main complaints in the real fields. Their primary cause is manufacturing defect or reliability requirements without considering user’s operating environment and conditions etc. In this presentation, we introduce RAIN based application services which begin in earnest through our support for test engineering service in Korea.
