THE UTILIZATION OF THERMAL TRANSFER TECHNOLOGY FOR PRINTING UHF ANTENNA
DENE TAYLOR, President, SPF-Inc., Digital printing is the most
profitable sector of the traditional printing markets, even though it
has displaced only a small amount of analog (screen, offset &
flexography) business. The business model for adoption is called The
Digital Print Value Proposition. Value is derived from providing
economical short runs, printing on-demand only the quantity required
now. Being fully digital errors are greatly reduced and set-ups are very
short. Digital also permits total customization and distributed
printing. It must of course still be cost effective.
DENE TAYLOR

BLOCKCHAIN + RFID = TOTAL LIFECYCLE PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
Lauren S. Roman, Managing Director, TransparentPlanet: 2017 is panning
out to become ‘The Year of Blockchain’. Largely unheard of until 2016,
The authors of The Blockchain Revolution call blockchains ‘incorruptible
digital ledgers of economic transactions that can be programmed to
record transactions involving virtually everything of value. RFID and
other auto-ID is an integral part of blockchain technology, identifying
and validating each node along supply chains. This session will introduce
opportunities for blockchain and RFID to meet the growing demand for
responsible, sustainable products by tracking materials from creation to
recovery at end of life. It will include an open discussion of how the RFID
industry might approach this opportunity.

RAIN + VISUAL INTERFACES & THE BLACK BOX PROBLEM: OUTCOME CENTRIC SOLUTIONS FOR HEALTHCARE
PAUL ATKINSON, President / Chromera RAIN RFID together with displays and
visible verification technologies can drive new outcomes in healthcare.
Described in this session will be an exemplary solution that solves the
“black box problem”: how to securely update expiry dates on eLabels
affixed to items stored inside boxes – without opening the boxes and
having to individually verify the results (as is the current industry
practice with printed labels).   And in the process, improve accuracy,
lower life-cycle costs, and accelerate regulatory and customer
acceptance.
