Etam generalizes cashless payment in its stores

The brand uses RFID technology to digitize its 450 stores by the end of 2018 and develop the omnichannel.

With RFID , Etam is much more than a flip. This labeling technology that allows scanning of mass and remote items will be widespread in the 450 Etam stores by the end of 2018. “RFID is not only interested in helping sellers in inventories”, explains Jonathan Attali, director of e-commerce and innovations of the brand, who was present at the JDN event digital store on February 6,  2018. These chips will form the base to launch the delivery from the stores (ship from store) and the payment without cash.

Thus, thanks to RFID, Etam will offer cashless payment in all its stores by the end of 2018. Concretely, the customer puts his items in a bag. Then, when paying, she hangs it on a hook that scans all the RFID tags. The transaction finally concludes on a client tablet, self check-out. This solution is already tested in two stores in Paris. For Etam, the interest is to unclog traditional crates at lower cost. “We built the installation ourselves, faced with behemoths, like Amazon, who spend huge amounts of money on R & D, we need to innovate effectively,” says Jonathan Attali,  referring to the Amazon Go store, open to the public at the end of January 2017. in Seattle.
