Pierre Muller to Join Incumbents Jonathan Aitken, Ralf Kodritsch, and Juho Partanen to Serve Two-Year Term on Board of Directors

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – April 3, 2023 – The RAIN Alliance today announced the re-election of three members of the Board of Directors. Jonathan Aitken, director, RFID and digital partnerships at Avery Dennison; Ralf Kodritsch, segment manager of RAIN RFID solutions at NXP Semiconductors; and Juho Partanen, director of business development and co-founder of Voyantic Ltd. Pierre Muller, RFID BU manager at EM Microelectronic-Marin SA, was newly elected to Board of Directors.

The re-elected incumbents bring deep industry and organizational expertise to the RAIN Alliance. Muller ran for a Board seat to help the RAIN RFID Alliance continue to support semiconductor availability for the industry, and position RAIN RFID as the technology of choice for the European Union #DPP (Digital Product Passport) and FDA’s #DSCSA (Drugs Supply Chain Security Act) applications. Aitken, Kodritsch, Partanen and Muller will join Chris Diorio, CEO of IMPINJ; Herve D’Halluin, Decathlon RFID United Leader and IoT Referent; and Lewis Lin, CEO and vice chairman of Arizon RFID Technology Co. Ltd, who were elected to the Board of Directors last year.

“I look forward to continuing to work with all of our directors to further the RAIN Alliance mission: creating a smarter and more sustainable world for everyone on the planet,” said Aileen Ryan, RAIN Alliance president and CEO. “Collaborating with our committed membership, we will continue to drive awareness and foster market adoption of RAIN RFID technology and support the development of the RAIN ecosystem.”

The full board selected and hired Ryan to direct the activities of the 160-member global industry association to transform and grow the Alliance. RAIN is the brand name for passive ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID wireless technology, which businesses use every day to identify, manage and engage with billions of items simply and inexpensively. These advantages make supply chains, inventories and day-to-day operations in countless industries more transparent.

“Our vision is of everything in the world becoming RAIN-enabled, improving people’s lives and creating a sustainable future for our planet,” said Jonathan Aitken, who also served as treasurer for the past two years. “We have much more work to do and I want to continue making the same great pace of progress as we have in the last twelve months.”
