The Tyres Workgroup is dedicated to making RAIN accessible and beneficial to the tire industry. This includes providing education on RAIN tag implementation, promoting the technology’s use for tire tracing, and supporting the industry with best practices and resources. Our members collaborate to achieve the workgroup’s goals through focused projects and initiatives.

Responsible for:

  • Promoting the use of RAIN in the tyre industry through communication events and exploring synergies in the automotive industry.
  • Creating education materials on ISO standards implementation, RAIN tyre applications, technology benefits, future technology evolution, and standards assessment.

Meeting cadence: first Wednesday of each month

Projects:

  • Read Points Configuration Project: The Read Points Configuration Project team has created a document that aims to define and clarify RAIN terminology in the vehicle and mobility sectors, bridging the gap between tires and automatic identification to support the development of integrated solutions.

Level of dedication:

There are different levels of dedication depending on the role participants choose to take on. Engagement can range from participating in discussions and reviewing guidelines to contributing text for guidelines. High levels of commitment are needed for roles such as editors for guides and papers, often requiring 1-2 hours per week until deliverables are complete.
