April 1, 2024 — The RAIN Alliance has announced the election results for its Board of Directors. Congratulations to Michael Fein, Director, Product Management, RFID, Zebra Technologies; Herve d’Halluin, RFID & Traceability Leader, Decathlon; and Joseph Kunnen, CTO, Times-7 Research Limited. Each will serve a two-year term through March 2026. Herve and Jos were re-elected, and Michael was elected to replace Lewis Lin, CEO of Arizon RFID Technology Co. Ltd. All three bring deep industry and organizational expertise to the RAIN Alliance.

Herve d’Halluin – RFID & Traceability LeaderDecathlon

Hervé is leading the Decathlon RFID Project. This project is one of the first, biggest, and most advanced Rain RFID projects in the retail segment. Rain RFID Solutions are deployed all over the Decathlon global supply chain. Since 2019, 100 percent of Decathlon products bear a Rain RFID Tag. Hervé is leading the team building these high-value creation solutions implemented in Decathlon stores, warehouses, and factories. Hervé is also in charge of the United Traceability Project within Decathlon, from the cotton field to the recycling factory, where RFID plays a central role. Hervé has longstanding experience leading other worldwide technology transformation projects in security, new payment means, and semiconductors, including NFC payment cards, chip-protected banking cards (EMV), and secure elements for banks, governments, and other industries. Hervé holds an MSC in signal processing & microelectronics and an MBA from INSEAD.

 

Michael Fein – Director, Product Management, RFIDZebra Technologies

Michael Fein is responsible for the global product management of Zebra’s passive RFID portfolio of solutions. He has more than 15 years of experience in the RFID industry, with roles spanning R&D, Engineering, and Product Management. He became fascinated by RFID technology in 2003 while working for a global ink and coatings company where he was instrumental in developing the first high-speed printed RFID antennas. Since joining Zebra in 2006, he’s led numerous successful technology developments, product launches, and RFID deployments.

 

 

Jos Kunnen – CTO – Times-7 Research Limited

Jos joined Times-7 as CEO in 2016. Under his innovation-driven leadership, Times-7 became the global leader in RAIN reader antennas, experiencing remarkable growth with a turnover increase of over 500%. Last year, Times-7 won the fastest-growing exporter award at the Wellington regional Deloitte Business Awards. In 2024, Jos transitioned to the role of CTO, focusing on strategic projects, industry development, and the company’s future direction. His industry contribution extends beyond Times-7. He plays an active role in the global RAIN RFID Alliance, where he was elected to the Board of Directors in 2023 and serves as Chairman of the New Zealand RFID Pathfinder Group.
