7th November 2023 – RAIN Alliance, the non-profit industry organization supporting the development and adoption of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), has announced the launch of its RAIN RFID Tyre Technology Masterclass World Tour. These quarterly masterclass events will offer a unique perspective into the future of the global intelligent tyres industry, while exploring how RAIN RFID helps solve the issue of tracking the full product lifecycle of a tyre from cradle to grave.

“Following the success of the first RAIN RFID Tyre Technology Masterclass– a sellout event that took place in Hannover, Germany in March 2023 – it is clear that stakeholders recognize the potential of RFID implementation,” comments Aileen Ryan, President and CEO of RAIN Alliance. “As the ecosystem continues to develop, RAIN Alliance will be providing both its members and the wider community with vendor-neutral expert insight to help develop the next generation of tyre technology.”

Aimed at engineers, technicians, and technical leaders seeking to make their industry ready to equip tyres with sustainable RFID tags, each of the RAIN RFID Tyre Masterclass events will give unique insight and hands-on experience on:

  • The unique challenges of integrating RAIN RFID into tyres,
  • Best practices for seamlessly embedding RFID tags into tyres,
  • How this technology facilitates cradle-to-grave tyre identification and enables connected services.

The World Tour begins on November 28th in Yokohama, Japan where stakeholders from across the intelligent tyre ecosystem are invited to join RAIN Alliance at the Murata headquarters to hear more about implementing RFID at an industrial scale. Registrations are now open with tickets retailing for USD 500.

Locations and host venues for subsequent RAIN RFID Tyre Masterclasses will be determined by market demand and, once confirmed, announced on the RAIN Alliance website.
