IATA requires airlines to reduce mishandling of baggage by implementing cross-industry tracking, says SICK Automation.

SICK Automation, a  of laser, camera and RFID , is helping airlines and airport operators close the gaps of baggage mishandling.

The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA’s) Resolution 753, that came into effect on 1 June this year, states that IATA members shall maintain an accurate inventory of baggage by monitoring the acquisition and  of baggage.

The resolution is intended to encourage airlines to reduce mishandling by implementing cross-industry tracking for every baggage journey.
